“Britain has a great entrepreneurial appetite and SMEs are the backbone of our economy. I really was wowed by this year’s Nectar Business Small Business Award winners. All six winners reiterate that with hard work and a clear vision, anything’s possible. I hope that their achievements will motivate others to activate their own business ideas.”

Béatrice de Montille, founder of Merci Maman, adds: “Winning this award is massive. It’s fantastic that all the work we’ve put in together is recognised by one of the best known brands in the UK, Nectar. I started this company in my bedroom eight years ago and it’s fantastic how far we’ve come – last year Kate Middleton wore one of our necklaces, giving us a huge boost in terms of brand awareness. No doubt this prestigious award will also have an impact.”

Béatrice and her company were judged by a panel of business experts, including; Sarah Willingham, Nectar managing director, Will Shuckburgh; 2013 Nectar Business Small Business of the Year winner and founder of Goody Good Stuff, Melissa Snover; marketing director of Brakes, Adam Collett and Allan Dickson, head of commercial at Dulux Decorator Centre.

Will Shuckburgh, Nectar managing director says: “These winners have great passion, dynamic vision and proven success – I’m sold! The breadth of the industries and sectors that our winners represent just goes to show how much creativity we have in Britain.”
