Designer brand adapts site to better suit customers’ shopping habits.

Fine jewellery brand iKuria has launched a new online boutique tailored to smartphones and tablet devices, having recorded an increasing number of shoppers from mobile devices.

The new iKuria site has been created to work seamlessly on leading operating systems, providing browsers with a more sophisticated shopping experience than they have had previously.

Ikuko Kurahone, designer and founder of iKuria, said: "When we launched the initial online boutique in early 2012, the audience were predominantly traditional desktop and laptop users. Our shopping cart was cutting-edge back then and tablet computer and smartphone users accounted for only a small percentage of the visitors.

“Nowadays, however, accesses from smart phones and tablet computers can account for up to 70% of visitors, depending on the day. So it was urgent to address tablet and smart phone technology, keeping the quality of shopping experience intact for PC users. Now I am happy we can showcase our jewellery more elegantly on smartphones and tablet computers and provide all online clients with a better shopping experience.”

The new boutique, tailored to both English and Japanese visitors, breaks the collections down into iKuria’s range by collection or product type. It also offers information on stockists, colour trends and ring sizing.

"The online boutique allows for more storytelling flexibility to elaborate on my design inspirations. We hope the launch of the new online boutique will appeal to a wider audience and lead to an increase in sales," Kurahone added.
