Retailer created branded fragrance after sales technique wins fans.

Jewellery retailer Mococo has stepped outside the realm of watches and jewellery to launch its first fragrance after a sales technique involving a spritz of perfume won approval from its customers.

At Mococo each purchase is individually wrapped and sprayed with a scent that lingers on the giftwrap. This sales technique proved to be so successful that the expanding retailer has decided to produce its own fragrance after positive feedback from customers about this added extra.

The perfume has been created by husband-and-wife team Lee and Maureen Hooson, who run the mini chain, and is being sold for £29.50 at all of its six stores. The retailer said that the perfume has already proved succesful and it has sold a number of the perfumes.

Maureen Hooson said: “A Mococo fragrance was the natural progression for us as we look for new ways to make the shopping experience truly unique. We wanted our distinct Mococo qualities to shine through in our chosen scent – an understated style defined by an unconventional sense of sophistication, timeless and elegant – and I think we have really captured this.”
