Graduate designer singled out from longlist of 80 designers.
Myia Bonner was announced as the winner of EC One’s Unsigned Competition last week.
As winner of the competition Bonner will receive cost payments when her jewellery sells in EC One’s boutiques, promotion from PR company Push PR, manufacturing advice from EC One’s in-store workshop and business and sales advice from EC One head buyer Alison Skeates.
Bonner said: "I was completely overwhelmed when I found that I had won the Unsigned Competition. It is a real privilege to be stocking EC One with my jewellery on the lead up to Christmas. I feel their support and promotion of my work will be invaluable at this early stage of my career."
Bonner was revealed as the winner at a party at EC One’s store at London’s Exmouth Market. To carry on the unsigned theme the retailer invited unsigned bane The Rotating Leslies to play for guests.
A shortlist of 10 designers was created by a panel of judges from 80 entries. The winner was selected by an online voting system that generated more than 4,000 votes. The competition was open to anyone who had graduated from a design course in the past two years.
EC One said that the competition had been a huge success and that it is planning to repeat it on an annual basis.
