New flagship leads to a spike in sales for Allum & Sidaway

Independent jewellery retailer Allum & Sidaway has witnessed a significant surge in sales since opening its new flagship’s doors.

The store, which is located in Salisbury, opened just before the Christmas trading period and has given the retailer the opportunity to showcase more jewellery and watches than ever before.

Talking to Professional Jeweller during a visit to the store, managing director Jason Allum revealed during the first six weeks of the store’s opening diamond sales were up over 900%.

In addition, precious jewellery sales were up 145%, and watch sales grew by 300%.

The MD explained that since opening the flagship, which has been designed to take consumers through a journey of zones whereby everybody passes luxury pieces, he has noticed shoppers opting for higher end jewels.

Discussing best sellers, Allum explains: “We have certainly seen an increase in diamonds and pre-owned watches. Really nice pieces of jewellery. Our new brands have also been performing well. We are really pleased.”

Since Christmas sales have been up around 85% from last year in the old location.

The two-storey flagship features a fine jewellery zone, fashion jewellery boutique, bespoke service station, bridal lounge and watch gallery.

The space has been designed to luxurious, welcoming and inviting, with a plush carpet throughout, five seating areas, prosecco bar and more.

This year marks the retailers 75th anniversary.
