New online and retail jewellery brand emerges onto UK market


Online retail and jewellery brand, Magnetic Deluxe, has just launched and has unveiled its exclusive debut collection in time for Christmas trading.

It claims to be a dynamic, contemporary jewellery company, which was created by James Smart and Laura Hemsley. The duo of Hemsley and Smart, a jeweller and a sculptor, draw upon their experiences and practices as artists to inspire new designs.

Through combining techniques of jewellery making, sculpture and 3D design, Magnetic Deluxe seeks to create innovative collections and pieces of jewellery.

The new collection called ‘Helios’ is inspired by the “exotic energy and matter of the Sun”. The brand said the designs “collapse and fuse organic and geometric elements together forming rhythms that play out over the shapes of each piece”.

Available in a luxurious high polish sterling silver and 18 carat yellow gold vermeil finish, the collection features rings, earrings and pendants.

Laura Hemsley, Magnetic Deluxe co-founder, said: “Our philosophy is all about imagining new possibilities for creating jewellery designs. We find the richest ground for exploration and innovation at the edges of things, where boundaries overlap or become blurred into the unknown.
