Retail achievers who exude passion and ambition are invited to enter the 2016 ‘Worldpay Everywoman in Retail’ ambassador programme, which launched this week.

This initiative champions and promotes women in retail, with a view to increasing  awareness of the diverse range of opportunities for women in retail.

Retail is the UK’s largest private sector, currently employing 2.77 million people, however only 5% of women occupy senior decision-making roles. The ambassador programme was devised to encourage more women to become future retail leaders.

Co-founder of Everywoman, Maxine Benson comments: “We are very proud to be working with and supporting organisations that place an importance on developing the talent of women working in the retail industry, and who value role model ambassadors who will inspire others to bring their talent to the sector. This programme champions exceptional women whether at the start of their career or at the top of their game, and we are proud to shine a light on them.”

Chief finance officer of Worldpay UK, Jo Baker, continues: “Worldpay is delighted to be supporting the ambassador programme. I’m looking forward to hearing the inspirational stories of some of the women who are excelling in this dynamic sector and celebrating their success on a national stage.”

The deadline for applications is 9 May, and women can enter themselves, or be nominated by others. The chosen ambassadors will be announced at an Awards ceremony and dinner at The Langham, London on 13  September 2016. For further information or to nominate, visit
