Pandora has created a global e-commerce division and hired an expert to lead it.

Karl Walsh, who has previously worked for leading American companies Archetypes, Brandtone and Boston Consulting Group, has been appointed to manage the brand new division as senior vice president for global e-commerce.

The new division comes after Pandora vowed to become a leader in omni-channel retailing by 2022. As the head of the global e-commerce arm, Walsh will be responsible for the brand’s future e-commerce strategy.

In a statement, Pandora said the new division “should make it possible to strengthen cooperation with Pandora’s 100 markets and ensure rapid progress in the e-commerce field”.

Alongside leading the brand’s new division, Walsh also join Pandora’s executive board, while the only female member of the board, the brand’s senior vice president for global marketing Minna Philipson, has decided to leave the company after joining the brand in 2016.
