Papa John’s marks leap year with £5K dough-stuffed cufflinks

This leap year, pizza chain Papa John’s is swapping its crusts for a pair of cuffs with the launch of its £5,000 one-of-a-kind ‘crust’-links.

Allowing pizza lovers to carry their favourite dough with them wherever they go, Papa John’s has partnered with Hatton Garden jewellers, DC Jewellery, to create a pair of hand-crafted 18ct gold cufflinks.

Not only does the design resemble the firm’s classic American Hot pizza, but the cufflinks also have Papa John’s signature dough hidden within a ruby and tsavorite-encrusted surface.

Papa John’s marketing director, Giles Codd, says:We wanted to create something unique to celebrate the leap year and we think our 18ct gold cufflinks are the perfect combination of romance and innovation.

“We never thought we’d be able to incorporate our dough into jewellery, but it’s happened, and we’re excited to contribute towards making one couple’s dream proposal come true.”

This month, Papa John’s will be offering Papa’s Engagement Package alongside the chance to win the cufflinks. The service will include a photographer to capture any women looking to propose with the cufflinks, celebratory champagne and pizzas on the house.

Founder of DC Jewellery, Daniel Christopher, adds:We loved playing our part in the creation of these bespoke Papa John’s ‘crust’-links. We’re passionate about jewellery and making each piece as special and truly one-of-a-kind as possible.”
