Professional Jeweller’s Hot 100 Trendsetter, Pippa Small, won Most Socially Responsible British Luxury Brand at the 14th annual Walpole British Luxury Awards.
The event was held at The Dorchester, Mayfair, and saw the likes of Victoria Beckham, Emilia Wickstead and The Serpentine Galleries’ Julia Peyton-Jones OBE take home awards.
Hosted by British presenter and model Jack Guinness and attended by special guests including Laura Bailey, the ceremony saw a total of nine awards presented to those who demonstrate brilliance across all sectors of the luxury industry, both within the UK and internationally.
Acknowledging the importance of corporate social responsibility in the luxury industry, ethical jewellery designer was awarded Most Socially Responsible British Luxury Brand.
On winning the award Pippa Small said: “Tonight was a complete shock – to win this is a complete surprise, but also a hugely humbling honour. Everyone in our category, from Beulah London to Green Carpet Challenge, is doing their part to bring socially responsible luxury to the forefront, and I never imagined when I started the brand twenty years ago that we would be here now in such good company. Winning something like this inspires us to continue building on the success of our ethical projects, from Turquoise Mountain in Afghanistan to working with ethical mines in Bolivia, Brazil and elsewhere – it gives us the confidence to keep pushing those boundaries of what we can do next.”
Michelle Emmerson, CEO of Walpole, added: “The winners at tonight’s Walpole British Luxury awards demonstrate excellence in design, quality and experience in the luxury sector both within Britain – where the luxury industry is now worth over £32 billion – and internationally.”
