Canterbury-based Fitzgerald Jewellers scooped the Best New Store or Store Refurbishment of the Year Award.
This category, sponsored by Cadfolio, was added for the 2018 ceremony to honour retailers that have adapted store environments to meet new demands.
Winning with 22% of the votes was independent jewellery retailer Fitzgerald Jewellers.
Located in Canterbury, Fitzgerald Jewellers refurbished its store at the end of last year to make it feel warm, welcoming, and relaxed like a living room.
By enlisting independent tradesman from the local area, the jeweller reached its desires results, with the revamp store leading to a 50% year-on-year increase in turnover in the first eight month. Furthermore, despite having a workshop before the refit, the new-look has had an extremely positive effect on the bespoke side of the business, with commissions increasing by 223% year-on-year in the first eight months as well.
The retailer has introduced new brands to fit with the new look, including Alex Monroe and Deakin & Francis, which are stocked exclusively by Fitzgerald Jeweller in the city.
Chief executive officer of Cadfolio and author of The Digital Jeweller, Ryan Edkins, had the honour of presenting the independent jeweller with this accolade.
