PJ AWARDS WINNERS: Independent Fashion Jewellery Retailer of the Year

Strange

Strange the Jewellers has scooped the Independent Fashion Jewellery Retailer of the Year accolade at the Professional Jeweller Awards.

This category, sponsored by Kit Heath, reviewed independently-owned jewellery retailers with fewer than five stores, trading mainly in fashion and lifestyle brands priced under £1,000.

Strange the Jewellers were determined to win this accolade after coming a close second last year, so we are pleased to announce that the team are now the proud owners of the 2019 trophy after receiving almost a quarter of the votes.

Last year Strange the Jewellers, based in Wokingham, decided to change the focus of its fashion jewellery products.

As a result, the independent jeweller decided all the main brands would have to have a genuine designer behind them; be a family business like the store itself; or offer a product that is unique to the marketplace.

This change has been met positively by consumers, with the business reporting strong sales with brands and designers like UNOde50, byBiehl and Claudia Bradby Jewellery, and, judging by amount of votes the retailer received, it seems the trade back this as a winning new formula as well.
