Read his issue dedicated to making British jewellery world class now.

The issue of Professional Jeweller guest edited by Holts boss Jason Holt has now hit subscribers’ doormats.

The print magazine of the January 2013 issue of Professional Jeweller edited by Holt is out now and for those readers who prefer to read online the digital version is available to view by clicking here.

As guest editor Holt set the agenda for the first issue of 2013 and chose to focus on what the British jewellery industry can do to make itself a serious player on the global market. Articles in the issue include a debate about what makes a jeweller British, who the next UK jewellery stars are and what can be done to help them flourish on the international stage and what British jewellery manufacturing can do to compete with cheaper options in countries such as China and India.

As part of his guest editorship Holt interviewed British jeweller Theo Fennell and wrote a piece for the magazine about that interview, which outlines what Fennell feels is missing from the trade and an action plan on how to resolve those issues.

This is the third time that Professional Jeweller has created a guest editor issue. It is now a firm annual tradition to give the first magazine of each year over to an editor or editors from within the jewellery trade. Previous guest editors have been jewellery designer Shaun Leane and retailers Grant Mitchell and Kyron Keogh of Rox.
