PJ reports boom in Hot 100 2013 nominations

Industry shares praise for colleagues; three weeks left to nominate.

A flood of high calibre nominations have been put forward for Professional Jeweller‘s Hot 100 2013, with three weeks remaining to nominate your industry stars.

The Hot 100 2013 nominations opened on April 4 calling for the UK jewellery industry to share their views on who have been the movers, shakers and stars of the industry this past year.

Nominations will be considered for one of five industry-led categories: Trendsetters, Retail Stars, Business Big Shots, Trailblazers and NexGems. These categories cover the realms of jewellery design, retail, business operations and industry initiatives.

The Professional Jeweller editorial team has already recorded a high number of nominations, including many well known and highly respected members of the UK jewellery industry.

Professional Jeweller editor Kathryn Bishop said: "It’s been intriguing and exciting to see the names of many great industry personalities coming in for nomination this year.

"It is brilliant to see so many retailers, designers and individuals putting themselves forward and shows how proud they are of their achievements, which in turn should be celebrated through events like the Hot 100. As ever the nominations process is not vote based, so only one nomination needs to be put forward per person."

The nominations process can be used to put forward yourself, someone else from within your company or a person or people in the trade that you admire or have feel have achieved something extra special in the past 12 months.

Nominations can be made by email directly to the editorial team at Professional Jeweller, who, as always, will compile this year’s list.

Once the decision has been made we will contact each of this year’s Hot 100 to tell them of their inclusion and arrange the photograph and interview.

The Professional Jeweller Hot 100 2013, supported by Diamond partner IJL, will be revealed at an exclusive invite-only party in London on September 3. At the party a souvenir book will be released that is packed with intimate interviews and original photography shot especially of the Hot 100 2013.

The nomination process is easy to do, and you can nominate yourself, a colleague or another industry champion. To nominate simply email with the subject line HOT 100 NOMINATION. The email must contain the following information:

• Name/s, job title/s and company name/s of those being nominated
• A bullet point list of reasons why they should be considered for this year’s Hot 100, focusing only on events from the past 12 months. For example: business growth, store expansion, new product development, effective new strategies, personal contribution to the jewellery industry, etc.
• Nominations will close at midnight on May 10.
