Leeds-based standalone is third Rolex franchise boutique in the UK.

Jewellery and watch retailer Prestons of Bolton is set to open a standalone Rolex store in Leeds this summer, having been awarded the franchise from Rolex UK in the spring of last year.

The boutique is the third standalone Rolex store in the UK. Work began this week on what is predicted to be a six-month fitting period for the store, with a preliminary opening date of June 1.

The store has been designed by Rolex Geneva and will feature two sales areas on the ground floor and first floor. There will also be a champagne bar, library and a mezzanine floor where a Rolex-trained watchmaker will have a workstation.

Prestons of Bolton managing director Karl Massey said he is delighted with the expansion: “Leeds is a dynamic city and to have the opportunity to retail Rolex from a standalone Rolex boutique is just wonderful."

The boutique will have joint branding of Rolex and Prestons and joins the only two other exclusive Rolex boutiques in the UK, on Bond Street and within the One Hyde Park development in Knightsbridge, London.
