Batley-based jeweller, Pugata Jewellery, has donated a diamond worth £1,500 to a charity event.

The luxury jeweller has provided a valuable stone for a raffle taking place at homeless charity, Simon on the Streets’, annual Rough Diamond Ball.

The event will take place on June 13, with one lucky attendee set to take home a diamond on the night. The winner can then turn the stone into a piece of jewellery of their choice.

Pugata chief executive officer, Zak Patel, says: “We are delighted and feel privileged to be able to support Simon on the Streets for this event., it’s usually at a special and joyous time, whether it’s an engagement, wedding or an anniversary The nature of our industry and the types of products we design, manufacture and retail means that when we see our clients.

“Our clients are at a positive and momentous place in their lives and come to us when they want something for a loved one or for themselves to celebrate and remember the occasion. Supporting a charity such as Simon on the Streets helps us to remain grounded, acknowledge what’s important in life and support those less fortunate than us at Pugata and our clients.”

Set up in 1999, Simon On the Streets is a registered charity that tackles the behavioural issues and mental illnesses that result in homelessness and addiction.

Simon on the Streets’ development manager, Fahad Khan, remarks: “We’re so delighted to have partnered with Pugata and absolutely thrilled at the support they have provided us with which has allowed us to continue to run our annual Rough Diamond Ball. The event itself will be a fantastic one and we can’t wait to find out who the lucky winner of the diamond will be.”
