Kovanovic says she is planning to create a piece of platinum jewellery that has a clashing kaleidoscope of coloured gemstones for her design for PureJewels Heritage Collection 2011, which will launch during London Jewellery Week in June.

She said: “It is an amazing opportunity for me to showcase my skills as a designer and my passion for gemstones by working in the finest materials. I hope to produce a piece that will capture the ethos of the company as well as having a sense of myself.”

Kovanovic is the fourth designer to be selected to work with PureJewels on its Platinum Heritage Collection 2011. The other designers involved in the project are Sarah Ho of SHO Fine Jewellery, Cara Tonkin and Anthony Rousell, with two more designers yet to be announced.

Serbian-born Kovanovic is known for her object d’art that explore organic forms and textures through inventive production techniques, such as electroforming silver onto glass, to create precious jewellery that is sculptural and bold. She is a trained gemmologist and has acquired the Fellowship of the Gemmological Association status.
