Pursuit launches Christmas sales analytics service

Free sales performance reports available for existing customers.

Software supplier Pursuit is offering retailers free daily sales performance reports during the Christmas period, to encourage businesses to capitalise on under-used data.

Using raw data supplied by participating retailers, account holders will receive a series of seven reports processed overnight by Pursuit.

The reports are designed to provide a comprehensive analysis of sales achieved the previous day, including top trending products, top ten products by value and quantity sold, top performing suppliers and number of items sold. Staff league tables to monitor performance are also available.

The free service is available to existing users of Pursuit EPoS, iPad mobile tills, online sales, stock monitoring and back-office software, throughout November and December.

Pursuit managing director Mike Burns, commented: “On a day-by-day basis, at its simplest, the free performance reports service we are offering gives a useful guide to what items might benefit from prominence in the window, cabinet displays and on the retailer’s website.

“As well as the immediate business value our Christmas season number-crunching service provides, retailers will gain direct experience of the power of the data that’s in their Pursuit system but which might not be fully exploited as a matter of daily routine.

In order to protect users’ privacy, Pursuit will delete all data gathered during the Christmas period in January.

However, participating retailers are being encouraged to present their data anonymously for a final round-up report. This will list the 40 fastest-selling products and the 20 best-performing brands.
