Online retailer taps into growing demand for personalised services.

Fledgling online jeweller believes that growing demand for bespoke products and services will drive business for its customisable engagement rings.

The team behind the start up hopes to capitalise on a trend for young people moving away from grand gesture purchases, and focussing more on personal and emotional interventions such as bespoke engagement rings.

"What is most exciting is the opportunity for our customers to start with a blank canvas and design an engagement ring that is full of meaning. We give their engagement ring a story that carries far more emotion than a ready-made ring ever can,” says co-founder Nikolay Piryankov.

Prior to the launch of the website in September, Rare Pink had been trading for over a year in their London and Hong Kong offices, helping customers from around the world to create custom-made engagement rings.

David Sutton, Rare Pink co-founder, says: "It is important that our customers find it as easy to create a custom piece of jewellery as it is to buy a ready-made one. For this reason we have invested a lot into making our team really approachable and easy to communicate with. Our customers are smart shoppers who understand they are able to get a larger or better quality diamond at a better price by choosing to purchase online."
