Nomination also unveils 331sq ft boutique in The Centre:MK.

Professional Jeweller can report that The Centre:MK in Milton Keynes has experienced growth in its jewellery sector sales, following a number of store refurbishment and redesigns by the likes of Ernest Jones, Fraser Hart and Beaverbrooks.

The shopping centre has also announced the opening of a 331sq ft Nomination jewellery boutique, located adjacent to the centre’s House of Fraser and soon-to-launch two-storey Jigsaw, which will emulate Jigsaw’s London flagship on Duke Street.

A spokesperson for The Centre:MK told Professional Jeweller that a number of jewellery retailers have been investing in their stores in recent months. Shops including Ernest Jones, H Samuel, Fraser Hart and Beaverbrooks have given their store interiors a refresh, with Beaverbrooks opening a TAG Heuer lounge in-store.

In total, The Centre: MK’s moving annual total (MAT) sales for jewellery are up 5.3% on the same period in 2013, marking positive growth ahead of Christmas.

The centre’s new Nomination store opened on November 11, offering the Italian brand’s full range, including its men’s and women’s composable collections, cufflinks, watches and a new product range for juniors.

Nomination’s marketing director Alessandro Gensini said the Milton Keyne’s store opening is part of the brand’s strategy to move into retail locations in prime city centres and busy shopping centres.

He added: “The Centre:MK ticks both these boxes so I believe that it will be a key addition to our UK retail network. Nomination is all about accessible luxury so we need to be on the high street or in prime shopping centres to ensure our customers can find us easily.

"It was also essential that we were open in time for Christmas; the composable bracelet is the perfect personalised gift so I’m sure many shoppers will already have this on their Christmas list.”
