Renaissance Life continues UK retail growth


Swedish brand expands with move into Fortnum & Mason and pop-up store.

Swedish jewellery brand Renaissance Life has announced further expansion in the UK with the opening of a space in London’s Fortnum & Mason alongside a pop-up shop venture.

Linnéa Götstav, the brand’s founder, said it is also looking to expand into the US market in 2012. The London-based brand has been a regular at jewellery and fashion trade shows this year including the Exhibition at London Fashion Week.

Götstav told Professional Jeweller that Renaissance Life has just launched in Fortnum & Mason, joining the likes of jewellery brands Alex Monroe, Alexis Bittar and Monica Vinader.

The brand is also set to pursue the US market in the coming months, with a focus on the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York. Götstav said: “First our strategy is to focus on the US market. We have a sales agents in New York onboard but [we are] still looking for one in LA.”

She revealed that the brand will launch a new flagship website on November 17, having received huge consumer demand. “We open out first ever pop-up shop on the same day in Notting Hill, around the corner from the famout travel bookstore that’s in the Notting Hill movie,” Götstav added.

Renaissance Life will introduce several new designs in November and December, adding to its collection of jewellery inspired by key dates and events in Götstav’s life such as the bestselling Year 1983 Swedish-Russian doll necklace that hides a smaller doll which reveals a silver plated heart necklace. The design won Best Product, Fashion at Top Drawer, London 2010.

The brand launches two new collections each year, which currently are available in around 100 selected stockists in Europe, North America, Middle East, Asia and Australia. In the UK its stockists include John Lewis and Harrods.
