Independent verification ensured Chaumet could maintain RJC status.

The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has offered French jewellery brand Chaumet recertification after it demonstrated its continued efforts towards social and ethical standards.

The RJC’s chief executive officer (interim) Catherine Sproule, said: “RJC congratulates Chaumet on achieving re-certification. After a Member has become RJC certified for the first time, independent verification is required at the end of each certification period to ensure continued conformance and to maintain Certified Member status.

"The successful verification assessment was conducted by Christophe Schmeitzky from Ernst & Young et Associés (France), one of the independent third-party auditing firms accredited by the RJC.”

Chaumet President, Thierry Fritsch, added: “We are honoured to have achieved this renewed RJC Certification status. It confirms our commitment in promoting responsible and ethical business practices, in line with Chaumet’s core values of excellence and savoir-faire in watch and jewellery making.”

Currently the RJC has 490 members, with 355 members officially certified for their ethical and social efforts within the industry.
