London auction house Roseberys has reported that its second jewellery and watch sale of the year proved “encouraging”.
The auction contained items from the 18th century to the present day and saw an 82% sold rate to both international and local buyers.
The company’s next jewellery and watch sale will take place 2 December.
Mark Bowis, head of the jewellery & watches department commented: “The second encouraging jewellery & watches sale of the year witnessed an increased number of buyers and international interest. We look forward to our next sale on 2 December.”
Highlights of the last sale included lot 235, a pair of diamond single stone ear studs that sold for £1,500 more than their upper estimate of £6,000.
Equally estimated to sell for £4,000-6,000, a diamond ring achieved the same result as the earrings, also making £7,500.
The last lot, 324, an early 19th century diamond brooch, more than doubled its lower estimate, taking £3,500.
