Retailer wins Copenhagen trip for Christmas window displays.

The store in Whalley took top prize in the Danish brand’s Joy of Selling competition, which launched for the first time last year focused on retailers’ Christmas displays.

Georg Jensen said that it was thrilled with the huge response to the competition and selected Sarah Layton as winner for its strength across several categories covering visual merchandising concepts in the store windows, the use of point of sale and in-store merchandising featuring its Fusion, Magic, Grape and Sphere collections, as well as its silverware lines and Koppel watches.

Gill Layton-Hill, founder of Sarah Layton, runs the store with her two daughters Lauren and Leanne. The store was awarded a trip for two to Copenhagen worth £1,200, including a tour in the Georg Jensen manufactory, a visit to the brand’s flagship store and a tasting session of Danish cuisine.

Layton-Hill, who was named a Retail Star in Professional Jewellers‘s Hot 100 2012, said: "We are very proud to have won the prize which Leanne and Lauren will enjoy."

Sarah Layton tripled the size of its store in early 2012, adding in a large Georg Jensen shop-in-shop area and enabling it to increase its portfolio of brands sold in-store and online.
