Victoria Radcliffe, a student from the BA Jewellery and Metalwork course at Sheffield Hallam University has won the Assay Master’s Prize for Excellence, presented by the Sheffield Assay Office.
Assay master Ashley Carson presented Radcliffe (pictured above) with the award along with a cheque for £500 for her crafted metalwork entitled ‘A Subliminal Mind’.
The work consisted of a series of drinking vessels. These were made in precious and base metal, textured are riveted with rock handles.
Victoria is one of 19 students exhibiting work as part of their final year degree show.
On winning the award Radcliffe said: “I am delighted to have won the prize. A real boost to the end of my time at Sheffield Hallam University,”
The work will be on display in the Harmer Building, Sheffield Hallam University from Saturday 13–19th June 2015 and will then be displayed at New Designer in London from 24–27 June.
