Sheffield Assay Office will throw open its doors on Friday September 11 for a special ‘Heritage Open Day’ to celebrate its 242 years as a hallmarking specialist. 

The free event will offer interested parties the chance to learn more about the history of the Assay Office, which was founded in 1773, followed by a tour of the marking hall and an opportunity to view some articles from the collection.
