Signet appoints first chief information officer


Daniel Shull joins jewellery business after seven years with Nike.

Signet Jewelers Limited has announced the appointment of its first chief information officer, Daniel Shull, as the company looks to improve its technology outreach and consumers’ experience of its retail sites.

Shull will officially commence his role on January 5 2015, joining Signet – the largest jewellery retailer operating in the US, UK and Canada – after seven years at Nike where he held senior IT leadership roles including Global Retail CIO.

In his role as Signet’s CIO, Shull will be responsible for the company’s IT systems across its three divisions and will work to ensure IT solutions and investments are meeting the needs of the business.

Signet’s recently-appointed chief executive officer Mark Light said: "Dan will help us continue to identify new and groundbreaking ways to serve our guests and expand our initiatives. He is an innovative thinker with a dynamic, multifaceted background in retail and IT. We are all very excited for Dan to join the team at Signet and look forward to him contributing to our success and growth."

Most recently Shull was vice president of strategy, architecture and portfolio for Nike’s entire $27 billion enterprise. Prior to Nike, Shull spent 15 years at Borders Group.
