Signet Group has appointed a UK managing director from outside the jewellery trade.
The jewellery giant has appointed Jessops chief executive Neil Old to lead its UK division, which encompasses H Samuel and Ernest Jones.
Old will report directly to Signet Group’s chief executive, Virginia Drosos.
Before joining Signet, Old worked at British photographic retailer Jessops, as chief executive officer for seven years.
Prior to Jessops, which is owned by Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones, he held senior management roles at Dixons Carphone and Kingfisher.
Old takes over from Emma Hayward as UK managing director.
He has been tasked with leading the UK team in delivery of our Path to Brilliance transformation plan by driving the Signet’s strategic priorities of customer first, omnichannel, and building a culture of agility and efficiency.
Signet today released its Q2 2019 results, which revealed a drop in same-store sales.
