Global jewellery creative agency Gem Kreatives has unveiled its new GEM Photo School, an online tool for those hoping to develop their jewellery photography skills for social media.
As the jewellery industry has shifted to a more online retail focus since the Covid-19 pandemic, Gem Kreatives argues that utilising the right photography has become more important than ever.
This led to the agency’s co-founders – jewellery photographer Julia Flit of Flit Photography (https://www.flitphotography.co.uk) and jewellery influencer Liza Urla of GEMOLOGUE (https://gemologue.com) – to found the new GEM Photo School concept.
Together, they aim to lift the standard of jewellery photography by sharing their expertise with every industry professional via the new online course.
The experience is built around video lessons, practice tasks, check lists, Adobe Lightroom pre-sets, discussion groups and personal feedback, all done on smartphones.
The course structure covers a range of topics including the explanation of light, composition, photoshoot planning, background and props, model posing, as well as the post-production of photographs with colour-correction, editing and a range of tools and applications, tried and tested by the Gem Kreatives team throughout their 10-year history.
Joined by talented guest speakers counting jewellery PRs and showroom owners, the course is concluded with lessons of visual strategy for social media.
By the end of the 10-day course the alumni will be fully equipped for taking desirable jewellery photographs, curating their Instagram feed and posting consistent, high-quality content to attract more customers, saving months of trial and error experiments, the brand promised.
“Now I am able to rely on myself to take jewellery photos for my social media,” shared one jewellery designer and GEM Photo School alumnus.
According to the founders, the “GEM Photo School is a must online course for any jewellery professional, designer, collector or blogger who wants to capture the beauty and foster the desirability of jewels by social media”.
The brand is also offering a 30% discount for the online course for readers of Professional Jeweller. Redeem the offer by entering the code ‘#GEMPROF30’ when booking the course at GEM Photo School (https://www.gemphotoschool.com). Spaces are limited.
