Gecko Jewellery says it has had a “very positive response” to its recently-refreshed ‘D for Diamonds’ range for children following on from Jewellery & Watch in Birmingham.

The company has added a number of new retailers to its list of stockists and seen a month-on-month increase in sales.

The collection, much of which can be engraved to mark special moments in a child’s life, has been given a new direction this season and now offers not only many innovative designs for kids from birth to pre-teen, but also a jewellery collection for women aimed directly at the growing baby shower market.

As Gecko’s creative director, Desiree Pringle explains, uptake for the silver jewellery for new mums and mums-to-be has played a key role in the brand’s growth, with the ‘little feet’ and ‘baby girl’ and ‘baby boy’ pendants proving especially popular.

“These items have a strong emotional appeal and are perfectly priced to provide a really thoughtful, life-time gift for new mothers,” she commented.

The pendants have tags included for personalisation with dates and initials and Gecko has recently introduced a full-time member of staff to offer a quick and easy-to-use personalisation service for retailers to offer their customers.

Amongst the strongest selling designs for children are a traditional silver baby bangle, which can also be engraved, a range of toggle bracelets and designs featuring emojis which are proving popular with the pre-teens.

The collection is backed by a new, lifestyle catalogue for use at the PoS and is supplied with a selection of high-quality branded, boxes and bags in blue, pink and a recently introduced pale yellow.
