Forecast and analysis service Stylesight will present its second KickStart Trend Award to a KickStart designer at IJL in September, following Claire English’s win in 2011.

The prize includes a year’s subscription to Stylesight’s trend service, which offers forecasts and analysis, worth $8,500 (£5,478).

The award was launched at the 2011 show with jewellery designer Claire English scooped the prize.

English said: “I found Stylesight to be a marvellous way to interact with the web and do research. I will be bringing some mood boards created in Stylesight to IJL with me this year when I exhibit with my own stand.

“These two dimensional visual mind maps will enrich and support understanding of what trends my new Tooth & Claw collection feeds into and where I drew my inspirations from.”

KickStart, which is supported by the British Jewellers’ Association, is a bursary scheme for new designers who are selected to exhibit on a group stand at IJL.

The KickStart Trend Award will be presented by Stylesight’s director of trend forecasting Jane Boddy.

She said: “At Stylesight, we feel that IJL is one of the most progressive platforms for jewellery designers to showcase their collections to the media and the industry as a whole. I can’t wait to sit on the panel for the award and see the innovative work from these exciting new designers.”
