Swarovski has partnered with the Natural History Museum for the second time running to bring a festive ice rink to London, to kick-start the jewellery brand’s festive campaign.

The famous 30ft Christmas tree, situated in the middle of the ice rink, will be dressed with 2,000 glittering, precision-cut Swarovski crystal ornaments. Combined with over 80,000 twinkling fairy lights decorating trees lining the ice rink, the Swarovski Christmas tree will aim to cast an unparalleled sparkle on the ice, designed to create a spectacular skating spot.

“We are so excited to partner once again with the Natural History Museum Ice Rink. Our first Christmas tree partnership was in 2015, we loved decorating the magnificent tree with our beautiful Swarovski ornaments and seeing it come to life, the alignment with the Natural History Museum worked so perfectly that we are thrilled to be able to continue the tradition of adding our signature Swarovski sparkle to this enchanting institution,” said Swarovski’s managing director, Hayley Quinn.

She added: “With Christmas a time for friends and family to come together we are thrilled to be involved with a family event and to be bringing a bit of Swarovski sparkle to peoples everyday lives.”

An exclusive press and VIP launch party will take place this evening, for guests to witness the tree lighting up for the first time and experience the ice rink before it opens to the public the following day. The proceedings will be compered by friend of Swarovski, Kate Thornton, and supported by her TB Seen friends.

Guests will be photographed by the Swarovski ‘skate cam’ taking a turn on the ice – and can collect their prints from the Swarovski Blue Box, as a lasting memento of their experience.

Each day, one lucky winner will be gifted a 25th Swarovski Anniversary Annual Edition Ornament by finding their photo on the brand’s website and sharing with #SwarovskiSkateNHM.
