Glasgow-based diamond supplier, Tankel, has reopened for business today following a period of lockdown during the pandemic.
As restrictions ease across Scotland, the family-run jeweller is among many companies that can reopen today (June 29), and the team are ready and waiting with new products to support retail client’s trading post-lockdown.
Understanding the need for products that offer customers value for money, Tankel has managed to source high-quality 1ct diamonds from £1,195 per carat, alongside valuable yellow diamonds and colourful clusters.
Managing director, Tony Tankel, shares: “The best way to increase diamond sales in an uncertain world and turbulent economic times is to ensure that you offer your customers genuine value for money. We can really help retailers to do this and ensure that diamond sales grow.”
He continues: “We were asked several months ago to make up a range of very inexpensive diamond rings. The diamonds had to be a good colour, very bright and the clarity should face up very well – no black. The prices had to be exceptional.
“They sold very well so we expanded the range into coloured clusters and the results have been amazing. The rings work out massively below what we would normally have sold them for previously and because they are huge bargains our customers are selling them. The rings have diamond weights from 1.00ct – 2.00cts. We have been able to source these diamonds and coloured stones well below what we would expect to pay for this quality. This is a great opportunity.”
Tankel will continue to offer its excellent customer service as it joins the trade in navigating a new normal.
