The debut of The Crown‘s fourth season has sparked a spike in customer requests for replicas of Diana’s famous engagement ring, Taylor & Hart revealed.

The bespoke jeweller reported a 300% increase in requests for rings similar to the engagement ring worn by the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

This comes after the release of season four of the hit TV show, with characters like Diana (played by Emma Corrin) and sons William and Harry making their first appearances.

Netflix released the show last Sunday 15 November, and it only took Taylor & Hart four days to report the news yesterday.

The jeweller also said that Google searches for the ring, which now belongs to Kate Middleton, have blown up with a 2,000% increase.

Kate Earlam Charnley, design director at Taylor and Hart, commented: “From lavish tiaras to antique brooches, Emma Corrin’s performance has rekindled a love affair with one of our favourite ring designs – the iconic Diana, Princess of Wales blue sapphire engagement ring.”

The 18ct white-gold ring itself was designed by London jeweller Garrard at a cost of £28,000 in 1997.
