British jewellery designer Theo Fennell hosted the annual awards at the Royal College of Art on Monday June 27.
The awards are now in their twelfth year with prizes awarded to graduating students from the Goldsmithing, Silversmithing and Metalwork & Jewellery MA programme.
A panel of respected judges including Carol Woolton (jewellery editor of British Vogue), and Theo Fennell chose the following students as winners:
Overall Excellence: Sophie New
Best Work in Silver: Filip Palmén
Best Work in Jewellery: Sari Räthel
Highly Commended: Laura Davis
Highly Commended: Lin Huang
As well as a cash prize, the five winners will each receive a silver pavilion dish which have been crafted by hand in Theo Fennell’s dedicated workshop.
As a leader in his field, Fennell is passionate about promoting and nurturing young talent and actively supports the future of the British jewellery and silversmithing industries, as demonstrated through his longstanding partnership with the Royal College of Art.
Fennell will once again be showcasing this year’s winning designs at Theo Fennell’s flagship Fulham Road store later in the year.
