The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) has announced the success of its very first virtual NAJ Live event.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the usually in-person meet could not be held as normal, so the association made it a digital event.
The NAJ reported that business leaders and employees from jewellery retailers, designers, suppliers and valuers all came together to catch up, learn and network.
The keynote speaker was Sarah Duncan, head of jewellery at Chiswick Auctions, who discussed engagement rings. She was one of many auction experts on the roster at the NAJ Live event.
In her presentation Sarah explained to attendees about how the engagement ring was first conceived in Roman times, and how despite evolving over time with inscriptions, coloured stones and then diamonds, the key sentiments of love and connection sustain.
Meanwhile, Helen Dimmick hosted proceedings and kicked things off at 10am with an update on how the industry is responding to the current situation, with some areas of England returning to lockdown.
The next NAJ Live is lined up for 27 August, with registration open now.
