Annual exhibition gets seal of approval from Birmingham manufacturer.

Birmingham-based jewellery casting and 3D printing company Weston Beamor as announced that will continue to sponsor an award at the annual New Designers competition in 2015.

The Weston Beamor Award for ‘The Most Innovative Use of CAD in Jewellery Design’ will be presented during Part 1 of the exhibition, which will take place at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, from June 24 to 27.


The winner will receive a week of work experience at the company, plus £1,000 in cash.

New Designers, which is supported by a number of big name brands such as Sky, the John Lewis Partnership, Mars, Absolut and Procter and Gamble showcases the work of over 3,000 of the most talented, newly graduated designers from the UK’s leading universities over two separate weeks.

Weston Beamor’s head of business development, Glen Day, commented: “Innovation, technology and great jewellery design are at the heart of Weston Beamor’s services and the company employs a number of design graduates, especially in its CAD department. We like to think that we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible, so will be particularly interested in seeing how the jewellery and metal work students exhibiting at New Designers have made their own innovations.

In addition to sponsoring New Designers Weston Beamor also supports the annual Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council Awards and runs an annual competition with the Jewellery School at Birmingham City University as well as undertaking a yearly project with the jewellery department at Edinburgh School of Art.
