Pearl jewellery brand Winterson is gearing-up to celebrate up-and-coming talents at the annula BA Jewellery Awards Evening at Central Saint Martins on June 25.
The pearl specialist will present the ‘Best Use of Pearls’ award at the evening ceremony, which has become a hotly anticipated event among trend-watchers.
Returning to the judging panel is Winterson director Andrew Fraser, alongside Claire Broadhead, programme director of CSM, British jewellery designer and Winterson creative director, Alice Cicolini, and Maia Adams of Adorn Insight.
Other sponsors at this year’s awards include Boodles, the Brian Wood Travel Scholarship, Cartier, the J&J Bursary, Theo Fennell, The Tin Plate Workers Alias Wire Workers of the City of London, Solange Azagury-Partridge and Swarovski.
Since winning the Winterson Prize in 2014 for her striking collection of baroque pearls in sculptural settings (pictured), graduate Felicia Swartling’s work has featured in leading publications, such as Vogue Italia.
Winterson director Andrew Fraser says: “The pearl is a classic gem that is being revisited again and again by the many jewellers today who are increasingly inspired to see what might be possible with new directions and design. With such a high standard of work last year, we are excited to see what this year’s talented designers have been working on.”
