WJN supports trade with digital conference and virtual meet ups

WJN BOARD2

The Women’s Jewellery Network has announced plans to provide a series of online events to support trade professionals during the coronavirus pandemic.

The largest of these events is a digital conference, which will bring together global industry experts in a series of virtual talks, panel discussions, debates and workshops on a breadth of topics.

Taking place this summer, the WJN x Digital Conference will be hosted online via a range of platforms, including the industry body’s new digital platform, WJN Community. Delegates will hear from and interact with industry and sector specialists, business experts and well-being gurus, from across the globe.

More details on the speaker line-up, content, virtual venues and dates will be released over the coming weeks.

“We’re really excited to launch this Digital Conference to the global jewellery industry,” shares WJN managing director, Victoria McKay. “We have an exciting and interactive programme planned and we’re calling out to the sector for contributors to talk to us about possible synergies.

“It goes without saying that, now more than ever, we need to come together as a community; not just for connection, but also to create, collaborate and to celebrate.”

In addition, the WJN is inviting the trade to join them online, after a turbulent week for the world due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, at a Virtual Drinks Reception with no agenda, no headline topic – simply an opportunity to connect, chat and share a beverage of your choice.

The trade is invited to join WJN’s managing director, Victoria McKay, and communications director, Nyasha Pitt, to have a chat, share and decompress, this Friday (March 27) from 7pm.

“We can’t wait to see who joins us for a drink and a recap on the week. We’ve left it very flexible, so people can turn up for 10 minutes to see what’s happening or they might want to join and stay for longer.

“This is the first Virtual Drinks Reception in a series of online events, so we’ll see what works well and modify as we test, looking at everything from the tech that we use, the engagement that we have and the length of the event itself.

“It’s unashamedly connection for connection’s sake. Whether you’re used to home working or just about to go stir crazy, we hope that people will embrace the freedom and fun of the event, even though they may be facing challenges.”
