Wongs Jewellers launches new in-house collection at VIP event


Liverpool-based Wongs Jewellers has launched its second in-house jewellery collection.

Following the successful launch if the jewellers’ debut line, Chopsticks, Wongs has introduced the 88 collection.

The new line gently nods to the company’s Chinese heritage, with symbols of love, luck and good fortune.

Wongs managing director, Peter Wong, shares: “We thought, what could be better than wearing pieces of jewellery that are inspired by love, luck and good fortune, the very things that have brought our business to what you see today, after 40 years.”

Crafted in 18ct white and yellow gold, the diamond adorned 88 collection represents infinite love to oneself, family and friends.

The number 8 is considered the luckiest number in Chinese culture with multiples of 8 even more so.

To celebrate the launch, over 100 VIP guests were greeted by Chinese lion dancers and bespoke cocktails, including the Lucky 8 highball and canapes including Asian themed doughnuts, supplied by Yu Donut.

After a welcome speech by Mr Wong, guests were wowed by local Liverpool poet Levi Tevari who spoke about Liverpool’s history, concluding to the business’s great links to the heart of the Liverpool community.

Wongs Jewellers has been shortlisted in the PJ Awards for its event launching its debut in-house line, Chopsticks.

The event gained the company massive local press and industry coverage, and the collection has experience strong sell-through, with several large bespoke commissions coming in based on the design.
