Pandora has created a global hub within its UK and Ireland office to attract talent in the marketing, digital and technology space.
The move represents a shift in strategy for the jewellery brand as up to now it has operated all of its global roles out of its head office in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Talent acquisition specialists hired by the firm identified London as a key location based on the number of key-skills workers that are based in the city, as well as its easy connections to Pandora’s Danish HQ.
The London hub will support initiatives around areas such as data science, digital marketing, digital architecture and engineering.
It reinforces the jewellery giant’s growing focus on data and personalisation as it looks to provide a unique customer experience in-store and online.
Last year it made more than 120 new hires in the digital and technology fields. The new hub will allow it to accelerate its recruitment plans in these areas.
Erik Schmidt, chief HR officer at Pandora, said: “To create a great customer experience, we want to know our shoppers better and how best to serve their needs – that’s where the focus on data and personalisation comes in.
“At the same time, the competition to source talent with the digital capabilities we need is more fierce than ever. Pandora offers an amazing proposition to our people globally and given the pace our business is growing, we are flexing our approach to acquiring talent.”
Pandora said that in the coming weeks it will begin hiring a number of new leads in its central London office.
