The Company of Master Jewellers’ (CMJ) Spring Trade Event has commenced after another successful two day edition.

With high retailer attendance, there was a positive buzz throughout.

Suppliers were keen to secure attendance at the next show, with more than 75% of stands sold for its Autumn Trade Event before the doors even closed.

After being successfully launched at the Autumn 2024 Trade Event, the Spring show saw the return of its CMJ Pay initiative, which sees the CMJ’s full, share-holding retail members receive an allocation of credit based on their turnover through the group, which is only available to spend with approved suppliers at the show.

More international guest suppliers than ever before were invited to exhibit at the show, with 19 businesses including eBay, Cavendish French, Reeves & Reeves and Shree Jewellery.

This was in addition to 13 brand new approved suppliers exhibiting for the first time, including Thomas Sabo, Lustre & Love, Lily Charmed and Freeform Fabrication.

This combination of newness, the CMJ Pay initiative and exclusive show offers from suppliers meant that the Spring Trade Event also saw record retailer attendance.

Jon Crossick, UK managing director at Thomas Sabo, said: “As a new supplier to the group, this was one of the best-run trade shows I’ve ever attended. There was a great vibe and positivity around the halls.”

Cynthia Cartwright, commercial director at retailer Wongs Jewellers in Liverpool, said: “The CMJ Spring Trade Event was an incredible weekend!

“The halls were buzzing with energy, filled with fantastic suppliers who truly went above and beyond to create impressive stands. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow retailers.”

Michael Aldridge, chairman of the CMJ, said: “The feedback from everyone who attended our Spring Trade Event has been phenomenal – record attendance of retail members, a complete sell out of floor space within the halls and what appears to be a hugely successful two days of trading.

“Supplier after supplier stopped me to say how much business they had done and complimented the team for what had been achieved.

“Bookings for stands at our Autumn show have already seen over 75% of our space taken – this is testament to the confidence our suppliers feel in what we are doing.”
