The Goldsmiths’ Centre has announced the return of its four-month training programme for emerging jewellery and silversmithing businesses.
‘Shine’ is a free programme providing skills and advice on how to present, sell and showcase collections.
This year, the training will include live webinars, self-paced learning modules, and practical assignments from capturing collections through photography and video, to learning how to price collections.
Participants will then showcase their work through the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s online shop before presenting the collections at a live pop-up selling event in September.
Shine 2025 is aimed at makers in the first five years of their business journey and up to 10 participants will be supported.
Goldsmiths’ is now inviting early career UK-based jewellery and silversmithing designer-makers to apply.
Morvarid Alavifard, a Shine 2024 participant, said: “Shine is the best way to find your audience, to market yourself and to explain your practice better to others.
“I would encourage others to get out there, show yourself and have confidence. Everyone at the Goldsmiths’ Centre and the other Shine participants are here to help you step outside of our comfort zone.”
Applications close on Monday 20 May at 5pm.
They will be assessed by a panel of internal and external experts with a focus on the quality, presentation and narrative of each collection.
