The Jewellery Valuers Association (JVA) is preparing for its annual conference, hosted at Holywell Park, Loughborough, from 8-10 September 2023.
Over the course of three days, the JVA annual conference delivers a combined programme of presentations by some of the world’s finest authorities, interspersed with essential hands-on workshops on the most current and pressing topics to the UK’s jewellery, watch, valuing, and insurance industries.
JVA’s main speakers will cover a wide range of topics, from the growth of the synthetic diamond market, the current state of the international coloured gemstone market, practical applications for diamond grading, and the turbulence in the pre-owned watch market over the past few years.
When it comes to workshops, you won’t be short on choice.
You can choose seven of over 25 workshops, each specially chosen to provide the most relevant information that is usable on a day-to-day basis, and fine-tuned based on feedback received from previous attendees .
Whatever you want to learn, whether in a subject you are familiar with or something completely new, JVA has something for you.
JVA’s workshops cover a multitude of topics, from synthetic diamonds and diamond screening equipment, to gemstone and precious metal testing and precious coral and jade, to assessing and valuing coloured diamonds, to identifying antique and period jewellery – the association has it covered.
The Jewellery Valuers Association also has workshops for watch valuers and specialists: from adopting a systematic approach to handling, inspecting and identifying watches, getting hands-on with comparing genuine and fake boxes and accessories.

Although the JVA prides themselves on the excellent quality of their speakers and workshops, the team also puts as much effort into the social evening events, with a drinks event on Friday and a charity dinner on Saturday.
