Jewellery takes a walk on the wild side with safari theme.
American jewellery brand Royal Asscher has launched a new affordable collection called Shining Stars with the hope of raising money for the Diamond Empowerment Fund, an African-focused fundraising initative.
The collection, designed by Reena Ahluwalia, includes new materials for the brand: rose gold, rhodium-plated silver and the use of white and black ceramic. The rings feature loose diamonds said to float within their settings, while a animal print theme runs through the collection.
Lita Asscher, president of Royal Asscher said: “The Shining Stars designs stand as a symbol of vibrant beauty of the African continent and its people. [The] pieces are bold, playful, and whimsical. I think we were able to achieve a modern, minimal and clean look with our new floating-diamonds collection”.
Designed by Ahluwalia, the collection an extention of the brand’s Stars of Africa range, which includes the brand’s own cut of diamond and blue sapphires.
Ahluwalia said: “We are very excited to introduce new materials with our floating diamonds concept. African savannah, abstract leopard and cheetah prints became my inspiration source for the collection. We are seeing the exotic trend hugely influencing runways and street fashion. The new collection is versatile because patterns are so compatible and classic.”
The introduction of new materials such as silver allows the retail prices to start at $1,950 (£1,200).
