Entrepreneur Theo Paphitis, who is best known for his stint on Dragon’s Den, has recognised David Gilbert Jewellery as a small business to watch.

The jewellery business, which has over 44 years precious metal jewellery design experience , has been trying to get the entrepreneur’s attention for over a year, and at the end of 2017, the company’s persistence paid off.

In 2010 Theo Paphitis created Small Business Sunday, an initiative on Twitter where he rewards small business that tweet him between 5-7.30pm on a Sunday, describing their company in one tweet with the hashtag #SBS.


At 8pm on the same Sunday, Paphitis reviews and chooses his favourite six, who are then re-tweeted to his 500,000+ followers, and received a membership to a website promoting small businesses.

A conference is also put on for the winners in February, where the company’s will learn about skills and networking, and be presented with a certificate from Theo Paphitis.

David Gilbert Jewellery ended 2017 on a high when Paphitis retweeted the company’s Tweet.

Since then, David Gilbert Jewellery has witnessed a spike in followers on the social media platform, and has been using the success to boost business.
