NAJ joins Creative UK to strengthen industry visibility

The organisation is setting out to support and champion the profile of the jewellery industry even more

The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) has joined Creative UK as part of its commitment to raise the profile of the jewellery, silverware and allied trades within the UK’s recognised creative industries.

This follows last year’s acknowledgement from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) that the UK jewellery industry plays a vital role in the broader creative economy.

Creative UK is a national organisation that champions and connects the UK’s creative sectors.

By joining, the NAJ aims to support greater policy engagement and access to practical resources for businesses and organisations across the industry.

Creative UK unites the creative industries and the cultural sector to harness collective influence, support sustainable growth, and advocate for long-term investment.

The organisation’s work includes policy development, research, funding, and business support programmes that benefit members across a range of industries.

Ben Massey, CEO of the NAJ and chair of the UK Jewellery, Silverware and Allied Crafts Roundtable, says: “Creative UK has a proud history of constructive collaboration with policymakers.

“As recognition of the creative industries continues to grow, we are eager to contribute on behalf of the jewellery, silversmithing, and allied trades sector, highlighting its rightful place within the broader creative community.

“While the creative industries encompass a wide range of disciplines, there remains important progress to be made in ensuring that sectors rooted in making and craftsmanship are fully represented and supported.
