Cred Jewellery has created a video to celebrate the first commercial shipment of Fairtrade gold from Africa.

Ugandan gold miners have joined the Fairtrade family by selling the first commercial shipment to Cred Jewellery.

Cred owner Alan Frampton went to the mines in Busia,Eastern Uganda to complete the sale and bring back the gold.


Supported by EWAD the NGO on the ground very ably led by Margaret Tuhumawire Cred successfully dealt with all the paperwork to make this historic trade a reality.

The Gold was produced by the Syanyonja Artisinal Miners Association ( SAMA ) using a mercury free production system. The mine is properly constructed with light, ventilation and safety features which makes the procedure a pioneering set up in Artisinal mining.
